A contemporary art gallery in Chinatown

Lola Gallery opened at 716 N Figueroa St in Chinatown, Los Angeles, as a home for contemporary art: a light-filled room on the edge of Downtown LA showing emerging and established artists. The gallery operates with inclusion and diversity at the forefront, not only in representation but in practice: diversity through mark-making, perspective, subject matter, and emotional resonance.

Lola is the project of founder Tyson Klein. The child of two architects, he grew up around the art world and design. After nearly a decade writing and performing comedy, he moved into film and commercial production, where he honed his craft as a production designer, building and designing sets. Years of working alongside the Los Angeles art community led to the dream this space realizes: a gallery and art space of his own.

Between exhibitions, the gallery opens its doors as an event venue and a film and photo shoot location. That mix keeps the room alive and keeps the program independent. Learn about renting the space.
